Sevierville’s city administrator on leave after Jonesborough arrest

The city administrator of Sevierville has been placed on paid leave after a weekend arrest in Washington County, Tennessee.

A statement issued by the city’s Board of Mayor and Aldermen said Dustin Smith was charged with one count of domestic violence in Jonesborough following allegations from Smith’s girlfriend. Smith also commented on the case, stating he will not issue any other statements so he can address the issues with the legal process, but he denies the alleged assault.

The BMA has named Doug Tarwater as interim city administrator.
