Sheriff’s Office: Suspect in Kingsport shooting captured in Russell County

Deputies said a man in the Orebank section of Kingsport fired a gun at a family member during an argument then traveled into Virginia.

Isaiah Joseph Campbell, 29, is charged with attempted second degree murder following the incident in the 200 block of McFarland Drive just after 4 a.m. Thursday.

Russell County Virginia officers tracked down Campbell and placed him in custody. He’s at the SW Virginia Regional Jail awaiting extradition.

Campbell also faces charges of aggravated assault, two counts of reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon, and a weapon violation.
