State animal experts in Gatlinburg safely tranquilize and rescue the Bubba Gump bear
A black bear stuck for more than a dozen hours on the roof of the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company in downtown Gatlinburg was safely removed after being tranquilized by officers with the TWRA.
Published reports said the bear was spotted late Thursday and moved around the structure and even climbed a steep incline multiple times on the rooftop.
Video captured by Gatlinburg Live then posted on social media showed an officer fire the medicine dart and after a slight charge at the officers up top, the bear faded off to sleep in a roof corner. The TWRA said the bear will be released into the surrounding Smokies.
