Farmers and forest landowners in Tennessee who suffered losses from Hurricane Helene will have more time to apply for financial relief. The Tennessee Department of Agriculture says the application period for assistance has been extended through August 31. State agriculture officials are also set to begin on-site visits to answer questions from applicants beginning July 6 in Washington County. Visits will continue throughout the month with officials scheduled to be on site in Unicoi, Hamblin, Greene, Johnson, Carter, Hawkins and Cocke counties.
