Tsubaki Nakashima announces closure of Mountain City operations

The Tsubaki Nakashima company is gutting its complete Northeast Tennessee workforce by closing its Mountain City factory, resulting in 110 people losing their jobs.

The company had already announced the elimination of their Erwin, Tennessee plant, leaving 130 workers unemployed by the start of February.

A statement from Nakashima said they are moving production to overseas markets in both situations. The company announced a 55 percent drop in revenue in the second quarter of this year.
