Veterans Day events planned for Saturday in the Tri Cities

With Veterans Day coming up next week, the Tri-Cities area is gearing up to honor our nation’s heroes early with a weekend full of tributes. Kicking things off in Johnson City, the Mountain Home VA Medical Center hosts its annual Veterans Day 5K run and parade Saturday morning at eight o’clock. Also on Saturday, the annual Bristol Veterans Day Parade marches down State Street starting at ten AM, concluding with a special ceremony at the Bristol War Memorial. And at the Tipton-Haynes Historic Site, history comes alive from nine to four with the “A Walk in Their Boots” military living history program. All events are free and open to the public.
