Virginia Tech athletics receives largest financial gift ever

The athletic department at Virginia Tech announced its largest private donation ever with an anonymous contribution of $20 million.

Athletic Director Whit Babcock said those funds are coupled with an all-time high investment in the Hokies’ operating athletic budget of over $200 million made earlier this year.

Tech President Tim Sands said doing more with less is no longer an option in college athletics and the donation will go towards winning championships in Blacksburg.
