Washington County TN to present budget to county leaders for 4th time
The Washington County, TN Board of Education will present a budget to county leaders. This will be the 4th attempt to lock in expenditures. This comes after the county rejected a budget last week even after the school board cut $5 million off what was originally a $7 million gap between the original request and expected revenue without additional taxes. School Superintendent Jerry Boyd will now go back to the county with the new proposal. This proposal will bring more cuts to the budget in addition to cutting 24 positions. The proposal will be presented to the county budget committee Thursday.
