Woman facing multiple charges after Sunday Morning incident

The Bluff City Police Department says a woman is facing multiple charges after an incident early Sunday morning. During a traffic stop on Highway 19E, the driver of a green Kia Soul tried to flee on foot. The driver was identified as Kathryn Benson. She was apprehended after a short chase without further incident. A search of the vehicle found drugs and drug paraphernalia. Benson’s charges include Assault on a First Responder, Driving on a Suspended License, Evading Arrest, Speeding, Resisting Arrest, and several drug related charges. Benson was taken to the Sullivan County Jail.
